News entries 1999 Patches added in 1998changes december, 21stupdate: 17:50For myself this year seems to be over - I will now pack everything together and enjoy the last few days of 1998 with my family. So do not really expect to see another update to this list until 1999.
Requires the commercial version of Doom installed.
Also known as Independence War in europe, I-War's patch only adds customary changes to the game and fixes no bugs.

update: 03:00Macintosh updates PC updates If you refused so far to go the incremental path in BC3K AD because there were so many incremental patches - get this one to shorten the path a bit. It is still a preview patch, though for the ever delayed 2.0
This is a hacked together version (3dnow drivers from Quake 2...) so be warned.
Only very old Cyrix 686 CPUs should have a problem with the game, and according to Rage's techsupport only with the bundle version which came with many Voodoo2 boards.
If the game accidently failed to find a game file on your hard disk - replace it with the contents of this archive.
Another "bundling problem"(?) - here with using a Joystick in Compaq's bundle version.
Another bundle , another joystick problem - here with Creative Labs GB Riva TNT cards. changes december, 5thupdate: 17:13
This patch is only for people who have video problems with the game. If not, get the 1.4 beta as it otherwise fixes the same bugs as 1.5 does.
I was told my first IAF patch was corrupt, so here it is again.

This patch fixes the lockup in the Deadcity Feather Of Truth Quest.
There was no information available for this patch. So if anyone installed it and found documentation about this patch, let me know.
changes november, 24thupdate: 05:03It took me a while to figure it out since this patch came with no documentation and there was none on the website as well. Read the patch text for update details. It doesn't explain the split between game and data update, but lists a lot of fixes to the game.
Fixes the "8 stadion crash bug" - or so the readme says. changes november, 23rdupdate: 02:54changes november, 22ndupdate: 22:56
changes november, 19thupdate: 18:30The server is back again - i will be busy overnight to apply the "backlog" of new patches i have at home.
changes november, 16thupdate: 23:12Still no news on a new ftp server machine and i am running low on quota - so this time i have to use direct company links:
Furthermore there are a few new patches to Battlecruiser 3000 AD, check out Galcom for more information. changes november, 14thupdate: 02:26As a in-between solution i decided to use up some of my own valuable quota to add some patches while they fix the ftp server.
Most of all this allows you to run the game in NT4 with Service pack 3.
changes november, 11thupdate: 22:56You might have wondered why the server seemed to be busy all the time these very last days. Well, the answer is simple - the machine holding our ftp server crashed hard last week and admins haven't been able to repair it until now. I hope it'll be up again next week. Please use a mirror site in the meantime.changes november, 7thupdate: 19:37This patch brings back the blood and mayhem to SCi's UK release of the game, which has zombies instead of humans.
This first patch fixes some bugs in the UK censored ("zombie") release of the game. Other versions might not need it, mostly crashfixes for people who have resident programms (virus checkers, etc.) in their system running while trying to play Carmageddon II.
update: 16:42Lots of bugfixes in this one, superseding the "realism" patch finally. Read the full details
update: 11:12
This patch is for those users who received F-22 Air Dominance Fighter as an OEM deal with the Intel motherboard. Do not try and install the v5.144 patch as it will not work. This patch will fix problems with Voodoo 1 and Voodoo 2 3Dfx graphic cards.
This patch is for the english release of K&M, so you better do NOT install it over a german installation.

update: 02:49
Cryo's site only mentions fixes for some bugs in the game, nothing specific, so I cannot help you any further.
I made an error when first adding version 1.35 - the patch i added was only useful for people which already had 1.1 or later, not 1.0 . changes october, 30thupdate: 22:59Lots of multiplayer fixes - required now for play on Internet Gaming Zone.
Lots of Multiplayer , especially for PXO "customers"

changes october, 23rdupdate: 23:24Never answer e-mails after 3AM - you'll end up writing gibberish *g* When i downloaded the new MK4 patch and compared it to patch 1 on my HD, the only difference i found were different filedates - the readme stated the same and filesizes were the same. After receiving that patch even in e-mails, i went out and downloaded the patch again. To my surprise this patch was REALLY newer - not 4 days older than patch 1 as i thought last night....
Adds 640x480 software rendering mode, improves DirectX6/Win98 performance.

See above.
Interplay wouldn't tell what they fixed and they made the first patch i've ever seen with an license agreement applied to it....sheesh.
changes october, 20thWestwood seems to have put out new blade.exe replacements for both CD & DVD. I have still no idea what they attempt to fix.
Copy the extracted Galaxy.dll into your Klingons\System directory.
Use this fix only on the Matrox OEM bundle. Don't apply patch 1.3 & 1.4 to this special bundle version!
Patch 1.0 adds support for Direct3D for some cards, as well as ability to export statistics, improved AI & bug fixes.
Version 2.12 improves performance in LAN & Internet play. Also of note: i surpassed 1,800 added patches for PC today and Netscape released Netscape Navigator 4.5 two days ago. But since they released it , knowing it contained security bugs i am a bit skeptical about the quality of their release. changes october, 16thMacintosh updates
This release can be used both as a fully playable demo as well as an upgrade for the full release. PC updates
Most noticeable change: no selflimitation to 20 FPS anymore. Read the full list here

For a detailed view of changes, try 3dfiles.com or AVault. I couldn't extract the readme for this patch.
Since this is a "fanproduct" be careful when using this patch. If this doesn't concern you, extract the included 3dfxgl.dll and put it in your Quake 1 or Quake 2 folder.
changes october, 8thI added DynoTech, Bullseye Software and Hasbro Interactive to my Games Companies listing today and fixed a few links as well. If you want other companies added, let me know.
This patch is solely intended for people who run Windows95 build 950 & 950A (the initial sales version and first OEM release)
changes october, 7thI updated the Games Companies listing finally, which was long overdue. Therefore the changes are too numerous to list here. If anyone knows of a programm for either Unix or Windows which would just verify that all bookmarks i have in my bookmark list were still valid & up and report the dead ones, please e-mail me at [email protected]
Thanks to Mike Weeks for getting this patch onto the net. And to Miles for sending it to me.

This patch is solely for the german release of the game (which also had an english version on the disk, afaik) and should not be applied to Interactive Magic's version. changes september, 15thAmiga updates
PC updates This patch is for the Matrox OEM package only and should not be applied to the retail package (once it comes out...) changes september, 13thI had to remove the WarGames update, since i was told that it corrupted the game for everyone. Look for a real patch sooner or later.
This version of the 3DNow! drivers are not from AMD, but some third party. Use at your own risk.
I don't know which patch is identical to version 1.04.07, but this patch asks for it to be installed. changes september, 12th

changes september, 11thThis patch is for the CD release of version 1.08A only.

changes september, 4thSince i was a big fan of Railroad Tycoon when it came out (despite all its bugs and shortcomings) i decided to add the demo for part 2 here as well. For those who take an interest in such things, here are the total stats for august: PC : now containing 1,741 patches Mac: now containing 186 patches Ami: now containing 42 patches These 3 parts together amount for about 2.4GB , so if anyone wants a full
backup of this archive, you'll have to order 4 CDs now.
This patch requires the 3DFX patch for F-16 Fighting Falcon to be already installed on your system.
This patch fixed problems with Voodoo2 cards and a lot of other things. Go to Mad Genius to check out for more information. I decided to merge their 4-part patch into one since it can't hurt to have all patches together. Apart from that their installation instructions were incorrect.
AUGUST '98changes august, 30thThanks to the nice people from Descent Network Team even the good ol' Descent 1 now has support for 3DFX cards (even at 800x600). D1X & DDR are variations to the code to improve multiplayer performance of the game as well as capabilities. For further information, visit www.descent2.com.Note that fanmade patches won't be included in the general area, you will have to select the appropriate button.
changes august, 29thFrom what i read on 3DFiles this patch is solely for owners of 3D cards and should improve performance of the game as well as granting you access to Janes' multiplayer network.
You need version 3.17 of Quake II installed for this patch to work - it may fail on any other revision.
Fixes in this release: * When Players are in-battle they are displayed in the In-battle area on the Match Maker page. changes august, 28th
There was a special note on rainbow6.com that this is to be considered an interim patch and the real one (which will render the sound patch obsolete as well) should follow on september, 11th. Meanwhile read what's been updated
Quite a lot new for version 1.32 - read in detail changes august, 26thThe list of changes since is too large to post, so just read the whole document
changes august, 24thI removed a few older demos and added a few recent ones instead:* Klingon Honor Guard movie (25.3MB) * Starcraft: Brood War movie (34.4MB) * Knights & Merchants playable demo version 1.20 (14.9MB) Back to patches news: Note that this is a bugfix release and only works on the european releases of Commandos, a feature patch is forthcoming in september. If someone is able to apply this patch to the crippled german version as well (and maybe gets all the censored stuff back into the game), let me please know. A detailed list of changes is documented in the included readme
I don't know if you need version 3.17 (+CTF) installed or not, but i guess this is very recommendable.
Please, could somebody clarify if this patch supersedes version 1.5 of RB2 as well?
Note that this is still in beta and may crash on a couple of chipsets. For detailed instructions, read here changes august, 21stMy apologies for incorrectly correcting Rich from Gone Gold that his update for Golden Tee Golf wasn't an update at all. I must have been checking ITS Games ftp server a few hours before they put the patch online. Until then there were only a few beta upgrades left on the server...I read over at Wargames Central Computer that MGM has recalled the first patch for the game because it will somehow become corrupted during download. Since they already shipped the first few copies of the game infected with a virus (and they weren't the first big company doing that) this might just be another mistake on their part. Therefore i will leave the patch here until i get a firsthand report that the new wargames.exe is indeed corrupt. Back to patches news:
changes august, 20thNot many patches today, but quite some interesting other news.First the letter from PC Gamesworld arrived yesterday and they promised to resolve the situation soon. I've got my own subdomain for free from dlh.net . Now you can reach me under patches.dlh.net as well. Right now this is only a referrer which still links to my site at Dresden, but if suddenly someone decides to run ads on my site I will move the whole site over there. We will have the most recent files on their server too, so in case of a crowded server here you should be able to get it there. I've got a cold, I wonder how this was possible with almost 30 degrees celsius outside every day :( Back to patches news: This patch deals with problems for people with S3 Virge, Virge VX or ATI 3D Rage II based cards.
changes august, 18thDue to obvious disinterest (3 hits a day isn't very much compared to 500-600 here) i am about to shut down the US mirror website. The ftp site at cdrom.com will remain but i wont update the webpages there anymore and if traffic doesn't pick up it will be gone after the summer.More disturbing to myself though was another thing i discovered while browsing the net for interesting sites with patches news. When i was visiting PC Gamesworld i thought the descriptions they had for their patches looked very familiar. Upon further browsing through their list it became obvious that they just copied the content of my site - all file descriptions are the ones i wrote and the only places they point their ftp links to are here at Dresden and my mirror at cdrom.com . There was no mention on their site where they got this list from and they made it look like it was their own work. I already sent them a letter asking them to remove this archive immediately, i dont like it when others steal my work. To make it clear once and for all: I don't mind if other fanpages use my archive as long as they place a link to my site or if searchengines like Gameguru (a very valuable source to search for patches or reviews, i might add) link to my files as long as they list my site too, but i don't want to see my work ripped off from companies to raise money with that content. The only commercial site which has the permission to use my archive is Games Domain and nobody else unless they pay for this service! I spend so much time with maintaining this site i certainly don't want this being commercially exploited without ever seeing much more than a raise in our servers traffic. Please send your letters to [email protected] and let them know what you think.
This patch should fix problems users with a Cyrix CPU may have (6x86 series). It also comes with a new video codec (the one i was reporting about a few days earlier) and if you should still experience problems with animations, you should get the Intel Indeo v5 video codec from Intel's website (www.intel.com).
changes august, 16thThis patch replaces your wargames.exe . I have no idea what it fixes and it doesn't seem to be a fix for the reported virus infection of the first few copies of WarGames. changes august, 15thThe good news is: Games Domain is back on track, the bad news is: their US server (and i suppose quite a few just enter www.gamesdomain.com to connect to it) is NOT. But i think this will be sorted out in a few days and is only a result of a lag in the process of the mirrors syncing with their original site.Yesterdays big news was certainly Starcraft 1.02, but unless you are a battle.net player there is currently no chance for you to get the update. It looks like Blizzard may put it out to the general public by tomorrow. So in the meantime look if any of the other new patches is of any use for you. I will add a few new demos tomorrow and remove the outdated ones.
This seems to be a newer build than the previously added 1.04 patch. There was no documentation on Sierra's site but the patches are definitely different.
This patch comes with no documentation , but the filename implies its a beta #1 patch for FF7. From the text in the included EULA i could at least guess what it is: it's an updated or improved video codec for people who have had trouble watching the in-game animations (which were either choppy, slow or anything else which might have been disturbing. Until i can find proof to my guess it won't be included in the general "database".
Version 1.02 adds a few game balancing changes and a lot of Battle.net and multiplayer fixes. Read the whole list. Blizzard will offer an executable autoupdater in a few days, but who needs it anyway...
Version 1.04 mainly addresses problems with DVD drives , a detailed list can be found here.
Just a quick note, but the archive now contains over1,700 patches changes august, 12thNo new patches will be added for a few days. You may have noticied it, Games Domain (which is together with cdrom.com my main mirror site) has had a lot of problems with correct mirroring of my site after the last reorganisation of our ftp server. I have send them new scripts and am awaiting the next mirror logs to see if they have improved or fixed the situation (from what i can tell, they are missing some 500-1000 files right now). I will also run a comparison script on thursday to check if the sites are back in sync again and add new files afterwards. There haven't been many new patches though, apart from High Heat Baseball 1.4 and some new Spec Ops patches. There are still some patches forthcoming, like Starcraft 1.02, Diablo 1.06 (and more) but i also would like to see Industry Giant 1.1 or Rebellion 1.02 (these two certainly could need some patches). Until then check Gone Gold, Rich got reports on all the new patches for this week - earlier than 3dfxmania & Avault, for those who care about such things and i will help him update his page with new patches news in the time additions here are on hold.changes august, 10thMacintosh updates This is basically a Voodoo2 upgrade for the game. PC updates Just uncompress and run this patch in your installation directory. It should allow you to run the game flawlessly under Win95.
See Simon the Sorcerer 1 :)
If your game fails to install under Windows98, use this patch. This is only for the Replay edition of the game (re-release with addon CD) changes august, 8thThis means: for non-US/UK, non-german, non-french releases of this game.

Too many changes to list, just read them in detail here changes august, 6thNote: all Kick Off 98 patches require DirectX 5 installed on your system. (Understandably there is no information of DirectX 6 will work as well)
Works for Longbow Gold only and supports Voodoo, Voodoo Rush & Voodoo 2
Fixes some minor bugs, adds a filter for "harsh language" (since when are kids playing LB2?!) and allows to play the game on Janes combat.net
For a detailed list of fixes, please select this link.
This patch is a replacement mprofile.exe which should prevent the game from crashing on systems with ATI graphic cards. changes august, 4th
This beta patch has also been nicknamed version 1.24. For an overview of fixes since version 1.2, check the readme.
This patch fixes mostly incompatibilities with Riva cards, but still has some glitches left. According to the readme there is another patch forthcoming. Don't apply this patch if you have already applied the Cyrix patch. If you applied it, you'll have to uninstall, then install version 1.01 update and afterwards install Cyrix patch. (Note: Does anybody know where i can find this Cyrix patch? I run an AMD myself at home and therefore might need the patch too when i buy FF7.)
This patch is only interesting for people who run CTF servers, if you only connect as a client, you don't need this update.
Where are certain incompatibilities with non-Intel chips like AMD,Cyrix, etc. when you apply patch 3.1 to Total Annilation. If you run on one of these chips and applied version 3.1 already, download this patch. Thanks to www.annihilated.com for providing such patches which most patches sites seem to ignore even when they are official. changes august, 2ndNew demo added!. changes july, 8thA note to those who are upset about the sloppy updating of my US page: I am sorry that updating this page is going so slow, but there are several factors which prevent me from doing it fast and more importantly, automatically.a) i have to wait for my mirror sites to report a successful mirroring before i am going to update that page too b) we are currently reorganizing the site and i had some problems with adapting my mirror scripts for this situation. I hope this will be solved any day now.

This is an unofficial patch by some Formula 1 fan. Read here on how to install it. If you receive strange Javascript errors when connecting to me through dlh.net/patches/, simply ignore them. They are caused by my webcounters which block this kind of "cheating" for hits. I will look for a way around this. Additionally we include solutions, editors and trainers for games.I'll have their banner up on the frontpage and if requested will announce new versions here, but in the meantime just visit dlh.net. changes june, 4thI'm back from a quick vacation at my familys place. Lying in the sun, getting a tan and being fed by a loving mother certainly has its advantages sometimes. :)As i noticied while checking my overflowing emailbox after one week of absence i noticied that i went down to #48 on Internet Homepages Top 100 . This might be related to the fact that more and more commercial sites keep being added to Top Homepages list instead of Top Website but maybe also due to the fact that i had Quake II 3.15 not listed on my site in time... ;)

changes may, 14thMy US mirror at cdrom.com will be relocated over the next few days (most likely this weekend) to http://www.cdrom.com/pub/dresden/public_html/ . There will probably some other changes to give credit to cdrom.com for hosting me and other things.
This is a hotfix this means there may be other bugs hidden in the game. You will need version 6.01 installed for this hotfix to work. changes may, 13thA note about the patches for Amiga games. Since the Amiga was at its peak time a diskette based system, updates were not simply zipped up replacement files but because of copyprotection on diskettes and several other reasons usually sent out in form of replacement diskettes. To make them available to nowadays "download community" people created diskimaging programms. The most common one for Amiga (well, which i can remember) is Diskmasher or short DMS. To rebuild diskettes out of .dms files you'll need a copy of DMS which you can get from Aminet or any of its mirrors.Amiga Patches
This patch makes the game more easier but making the weapons more deadly, boni are more important now, copyprotection has been lessened and a few other gameplay tunings have been made.
Macintosh Patches This patch is for the game brought out by Hasbro - the makers of the board original. PC Patches

Note that this patch is neither for Ultim@te Race nor Ultim@te Race PRO but for a special release of UR (my guess: a demo). changes may, 8thNot much to add today except for rumours on new patches for Hardball 6, Fifa98 (Voodoo2 support?), Triple Play 99 and tons of other sport games. We will know more by weeks end. In the meantime i'll continue adding older patches which were still missing here.

This patch is only for the spanish, brazil-portuguesian & italian release of the game. The previous 1.0a patch was for english, german and french releases only. On the plus side: version 1.0b seems to be already in betatest. I hope they will finally fix the 50 unit bug.

For spanish release only. changes april, 21stWell, cdrom.com is doing some security & hardware fixes to their server, so my mirror script to get their mirror back on track broke several times over the weekend and still is not done. Since i have only a vague guess how long it will take, i'll update my homesite anyway. I was holding off to get both servers in sync, but - oh well...
This replacement EXE should prevent the game from crashing if you are using an AMD K6 system in combination with a 3D card. This is from talk i gathered on Usenet, i don't know if this is true or not.
Symptom: Starship Titanic installs without problems, but when running the program it quits back to the desktop almost immediately, sometimes displaying a warning dialog about DirectX drivers. Description: Some video cards, usually (but not only) those based on the 3dfx Voodoo Rush chipset will not run Starship Titanic due to a bug in the video initialisation routines. This patch corrects this problem with a small change. If you are experiencing the symptom described above, download and apply this patch to upgrade your version of Starship Titanic to version 1.00.42a.
This fix should allow you to install Starship Titanic on a Cyrix 6x86 based system. No guarantee is given for its predecessors.
changes april, 16thI'm in the process of updating my cdrom.com area again after eliminating the last few remaining quirks (hopefully) and should have it ready by weeks end.A big THANK YOU goes out today to the following people: Jessika Jansen from Ikarion Software for sending me Demonworld & Demonworld Bonus CD George Huof from New World Computing for sending me Heroes of Might & Magic II and Might & Magic VI Frans P. de Vries from Gamers.org for reporting sooooooooooooooooooo many new patches to me during the last few months Jukka O. Kauppinen from MikroBITTI for various helpings and being a nice chap in general The following ad has been added both as a thank-you to Ikarion and as a way to notify people that registering software can have some big advantages over just buying it - in some cases: (The following is only for german readers and therefore being kept in german...)
Now back to listing new patches.
Note that this is not the same patch reported by some sites as Air Warrior III version 1.02 . They reported an upgraded version of the online game Air Warrior III while this is a patch for the standalone version as well.
There was a note on Carmageddon.com that their final patch wasn't from Stainless Steel nor SCi, but some unknown 3rd party. So just in case Stainless decides to do a final patch i've included this beta patch again.
Should work with Settlers / Serf City as well. Note that this is a inofficial hack and not supported by Blue Byte / SSI.
Well, the included readme says it is version 1.03 and site report it as a beta of version 1.1 . I will stick with the readme's description for now... changes april, 9thAs you may have noticied, i haven't updated my US mirror page for almost a month and neither my mirror site at cdrom.com This is because i'm still looking through my archives and reorganize them a bit before i will restart the US mirror again. I just need a safe backup in case i break something on my local drive. Don't worry, it'll be fixed soon.On not-so-related news Netscape 4.05 is a disappointment. I'm running it for a day now and it has already crashed twice, which is about the same stability i experienced with earlier versions...
brazilian owners need the brazilian update, not this one.
People who bought the game in south america should apply this patch, not the spanish patch.
changes april, 8thNetscape 4.05 is out . Go and download it at Netscape , maybe it's less buggy than 4.04Worms II 1.2 patches and other news will be added tomorrow. I just spent 5 days trying to get those patches and am not encouraged to add them tonight.
note: this patch is either a hack or a leaked version and not officially released by Sierra/Papyrus or Microsoft so use at your own risk
This patch is a replacement file and should only be used by players which experience crashes while playing the last level.
This version is for owners of previously released Mechwarrior II editions, not the Titanium Pack. You will only be able to join existing games, not host them.

MARCH '98changes march, 28thHey, it's my little sisters birthday so i'll be gone over the weekend to celebrate with the family. Too bad they don't like computers and gaming as much as i do...
For those who wondered what happened to v1.04 - it got renamed to 2.0 since it's such a major patch over v1.0 . There are further news about Spec Ops 1.3 which in fact is only for the demo version, so i won't include it, AirWarrior III 3.02 which is only for Kesmai's pay-online version of the game, so it too doesn't deserve to be here and finally Battlecruiser 3000Ad v1.05E for 3DFX which i am not allowed to host. I made links for each of these patches to hosts which provide them. The update for F1 Racing Simulation to 1.08 which i've got is from Operation 3DFX which doesn't offer the Direct3D patch as well. Strangely enough it wasn't even on Ubisoft's french site, so if you need 1.07 since 1.08 turns out to be an incompatible beta, i kept version 1.07 for Voodoo locally as well. changes march, 27thlate night updateOkay , here are the forgotten links (in order of appearance): This patch is for the game by Digital Integration not the one by Janes' Simulations.
...for cards like Matrox m3D

morning update
changes march, 24thJust a quick update on which patches have been floating in so far, the real update to my database will have to wait a few more days:
changes march, 23rdPhew - my mirror script finally went through after i ran out of diskspace locally twice. I will have some changes in the next few days to the filestructure to free up some space since a partition on the drive can only hold 2GB and this one is almost full 100% . Also i found a new german/english counter at www.better-counter.com to which i have to adapt my pages yet. So stay tuned...changes march, 21stThe mirror is making slow but steady progress and i hope to have it finished by monday. I also won an award today and got nominated Setoff Site Of The Day Award, in the GAMES category, from http://www.setoff.com . Check out their site by clicking on the award picture below or just follow the link above if you have graphics display turned off in your browser.
changes march, 18thThe addition of new patches is on hold until i have finished mirroring my archive on cdrom.com to my local drive. I may announce new patches here, but they won't be added to the database until i've synced both archives, which might take a couple of days more.changes march, 17thSince my own counter has been resetting itself countless times and i'm tired of fixing it manually i'm now using WebTracker as my official hitcounter. The other counters will remain on the link page since they give me much more detailed information about who visits my site and where they came from. In other news i'm right now busy mirroring back the site contents from Walnut Creek CDROM to our own local server. But don't expect much before end of the week...changes march, 15thIf you are unsure which patch you need for F-22 ADF , go to DID's homepage or go to their patch page and follow the instructions there.

No time to update this section of my "site" - sorry. The good news is that we're going to set-up the new drive on tuesday so i can work on getting the archive back locally. And now for something completely different...

update 10:25AM
The staff meeting is over and a new setup was discussed. We are going to
include the new drive soon now, the neccessary equipment was delivered. Just
let us hope that this drive doesn't turn out faulty like the first one i
had. With new diskspace available i'm willing to offer our server as a home

available. E-mail me at [email protected]
changes march, 1stIt seems my copy of Armor Command 1.1 was broken for some reason. I replaced it with a copy directly from Ripcord Games.
FEBRUARY '98changes february, 28thFebruary goes out with a BANG. Activision set a new record with their free release of their Interstate 76 to Interstate 76 Gold upgrade. Depending on whether you need a 3D accelerated or normal version of this patch, you are going to download 80MB or 70MB - and it won't even work with Voodoo 2 (yet). Since it'll probably take me another 5 hours to upload all files to cdrom.com and i want to go to bed (it's already past 9 A.M. here...) i'll offer them on our local drive for now.
changes february, 26thThe drive is here - i'm holding it (literally) in my hands. We've still to discuss the new setup and if we can host anything else beside a german ftp mirror for Games Domain (don't bug them - i'll announce it here once it has been officially created). If anyone could get me in contact with a C-64, CPC, Spectrum or Atari XL site, it's very much appreaciated.Macintosh patches There was no documentation for this patch. Is there anybody who can provide a description? PC patches This is some odd patch. I wonder why EA hasn't made it available for people who can't use their autoupdater because they are not playing it online? Thanks to Force One i was finally able to get it althought it has been out for quite some time. It contains a decent collection of files and news related to Force Feedback Joysticks, so check it out if you need some help with your FF. The replacement drive was sent to me last week and should arrive today. If everything goes according to plan we'll have our german site back in operation by weeks end. Of course, after having to wait 6 months for Seagate to bother sending a replacement, i'm a bit skeptical after all...So if you see my US mirror in a new outfit, it means my drive is back in operation. Until then it stays in its old custome. I'm going to rebuild my links section in the near future and plan on adding a few more sites. If you have any sites you wish to be linked here, send me URL and a small logo in GIF/JPEG format. The emphasis should be on patches related sites, so anything from sites which offers game updates for download (e.g. Adrenaline Vault) to sites which host custom made patches (e.g. Tim Tschirner's NBA Live page) to sites like carmageddon.com (Hi Jon!) to hardware companies for 2D/3D cards, joysticks and maybe soundcards anything is possible. I plan on having about 50 links of which around 20 sites are already from my own bookmarks list (means : i'm using them regularly in my search for updates AFTER browsing game company sites), so get your suggestions in quickly to [email protected].
This patch adds support for Voodoo & Voodoo Rush (and will supposedly only work for the DOS version). It might even be usuable for a german/australian or any other crippled version, since it's basically a replacement of carmav.exe
There is mention about Windows 3.1 support in this patch as well as for Windows 95, but due to Sierra's naming scheme and since 1.02 also came in separate packs for 3.1 and 95, i believe a special patch for Windows 3.1 is forthcoming. changes february, 21stSorry for the mess yesterday. The only disadvantage seems to be that it runs a rather big JAVA script on my machine every time a user accesses my page, so i have to watch if this causes any degration in performance on our webserver.
